“Let’s just go in and look” has probably never saved anyone money.

But that’s exactly what comes to mind now that Ollie’s Bargain Outlet is opening in Waterville tomorrow, Thursday, October 29, at 9 a.m.

Matt first shared the news back in September, when the opening was expected sometime in late October or early November. Now there’s an actual date, and I’m curious about what people will find inside.

A Former Doctor’s Office Is Becoming What?

The store is taking over the former Northern Light Primary Care space at 18 Concourse West, next to Dollar Tree.

Instead of heading in for an appointment, you’ll be browsing things like books, household goods, snacks, rugs, and pet supplies. Quite the career change for that building.

Ollie’s buys closeout and surplus merchandise, which means the selection changes. That’s the part that could make a quick look dangerous. You might find something useful, or suddenly convince yourself you need a rug when you left home to buy toothpaste.

Another Stop for Maine Bargain Hunters

As Matt reported, this will be Maine’s second Ollie’s location, joining Sanford.

Waterville already has Marden’s, so there’s another option for people who enjoy seeing what turns up on the shelves.

My question is simple: what’s the first thing you find that makes you text someone, “Look what I just got”?

Because that tells me more than any grand opening announcement.
