31-year-old, Travis Mitchell, of Vassalboro has been indicted on felony charges of manslaughter stemming from a May 2023 incident.

According to a press release by Maine State Police spokewoman, Shannon Moss, Mitchell was taken into custody on Thursday by investigators with the Maine State Fire Marshall's Office.

Mitchell is accused of having a role in the death of Liza Bragg, 46 of Albion, in May of 2023 at D&R Campground on Pellerin Road in China. A fire was attempting to be lit at the campground during which, Bragg, who was standing next to the fire, sustained severe burns on her body.

Bragg was taken to an area hospital before being transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland where she passed away from her injuries.

Mitchell was taken to the Kennebec County Jail where he was able to post bail. A court date has since been set for April 22, 2024, according to Moss.
