Whether you live in a house, condo, or apartment, it's inevitable that over the years, you're going to buy and collect items, and down the line, eventually replace those items.

Before you know it, every bit of available storage in your home has been taken up by old furniture or items you don't use anymore, and essentially, becomes junk.

And sure, you can put it on your front lawn with a "FREE" sign on it, have a yard sale, or try to sell it on Facebook Marketplace, but that can all become a hassle and not worth it at the end of the day.

And after the experience I just had trying to unload some furniture, there's a super cheap and super simple option that will honestly just make your entire life easier.

Maine Furniture Donation

In one of those life experiences where you go looking at items without planning on actually buying anything (much like walking into Target only needing two items and before you know it spending $200), I recently came across one of those too-perfect-to-pass-up deals on furniture that I pulled the trigger on.

After contacting a business I've used before (which will remain unnamed since I'm not in the business of running anyone down, only hyping people up) to donate items that requires you to send pictures of your planned donation ahead of time, they showed up for scheduled pickup only to tell me "after closer look, we won't be able to accept these, sorry."

Obviously, the furniture pictured above isn't in brand new condition, but is still fully functional and in full working order, just the victim of a bit of wear and tear throughout the years and a few cross-country moves. So, I was forced to pivot.

And, honestly, I'm glad I was.

Maine Junk Removal

A quick Google search for "Maine Junk Removal" brought up a business I'll continue to use anytime I need old junk removed (that also has no idea I'm writing this article) -- The Dump Guy.

Based in Scarborough, The Dump Guy couldn't have been easier to work with. They responded right away to my initial inquiry, quickly scheduled a time for pick up, showed up on time (even with a call beforehand with an update on arrival), and pick up was super quick and easy.

And most importantly -- The Dump Guy is super fairly priced (to the point that I expected the cost of pickup to be at least a couple hundred dollars more than what it actually was.)

Truthfully, this may sound like an ad, but it's not, just a pro tip to make your life a little easier and your stress level a little lower. Feel free to thank me later in the form of muffins, pizza, and whiskey (not necessarily in that order.)
