Maine Man Arrested Following Tuesday Morning Standoff
An Oakland, Maine, man has been taken into custody following an early Tuesday morning standoff.
According to a press release from the Maine Department of Public Safety, at about 6 a.m. on Tuesday, December 10th, police received a report from a woman in Palermo that her ex-boyfriend, 45-year-old Jason Grant, had made threats against her and other people in the residence.
Members of the Maine State Police, Oakland Police Department, and Kennebec County Sheriff's Department went to a residence on Ayer Street in Oakland where they tried to convince Grant to give up peacefully.
The press release goes on to explain:
After several hours, Maine State Police Negotiators along with Tactical Team members were able to safely take the Grant into custody. Grant was charged with Domestic Violence Criminal Threatening, Domestic Violence Terrorizing, Violating Conditions of Release, and Creating a Police Standoff. Grant was transported to the Waldo County Jail where he will be held without bail.
