Sadly, like dozens of other country artists, Kenny Chesney has decided to postpone his 2020 summer tour.

Earlier this afternoon (May 14th), he took to his Facebook page to announce that he would be postponing all of his 2020 Chillaxification Tour dates until 2021.

This postponement means he will not be performing his August 28th and August 29th shows at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts.

In the post, he said:

"I’ve laid awake many nights thinking about this,
not wanting to disappoint all the people who are with us every summer...
some who fly from all over the country to meet up,
people who’re coming for the first time...
friends who’ve met at the tailgate or the Sandbar.
No Shoes Nation is not just people buying a ticket to a show,
and I know that.
I care, because you guys care so very much."

This announcement comes as a bit of a surprise for many of his fans because, only a few weeks ago, he said he was optimistic about being able to get back on the road in 2020.

If you have tickets to the show, the post seems to indicate that they will be honored for the rescheduled 2021 date.  And, if you cannot make the show on its new date, refunds will be offered at the time those new dates are announced.

Hopefully, within a few months, things will get back to normal and we'll be able to see stars like Chesney return to the road in the summer of 2021.
