Longtime Owners Sell Popular Manchester, Maine Convenience Store
For years, the Violette family has served the residents and visitors of Central Maine through their Mulligan's of Manchester. The store, located on Western Avenue, has bee the go-to stop for fuel, Dunkin' coffee, prepared foods, ice cream, snacks, beer, and more.
A few years ago, the old store was torn down and a new, fancy store was built in its place. Mulligan's also became the home of the state's first "Dunkin" location - after "Donuts" was dropped from the popular brand's name.
Recently, Gary Violette and family sold the popular store to regional convenience store company Nouria.
According to a press release from Nouria, the transition will be a slow process and, as the store is incredibly popular with its customers, they do not plan to change anything.
Nouria founder and CEO Tony El-Nemr said of the acquisition:
“We are excited to welcome the Mulligans Team. This store has done a great job with not only becoming a best loved breakfast and lunch stop but also caring about their guest and team members, which is why they will fit in so perfectly with the Nouria Family. We have officially opened our doors and look forward to welcoming the community."
El-Nemr founded Nouria in 1989. Currently, the company owns 170 convenience stores across the Northeast. They also own 56 Golden Nozzle Car Washes, 2 lube centers, and a diner.
