One of the best things about being a country fan is how accessible our favorite artists are.

In addition to doing massive stadium and amphitheater shows, many artists also perform at agricultural fairs across the country.  Typically, these shows are performed by a mixture of rising stars and classic artists.  In recent years, our Maine fairs have hosted Lonestar, the late Joe Diffie, Clint Black, Niko Moon, Lady A, Nate Smith, and Jameson Rodgers.

Way back in the day, I had a chance to see Jerry Reed perform at the Houlton Fair.  Reed, for those who don't remember, was the truck driver from Smokey & the Bandit, and had a hit with the song "Eastbound and Down".

The 2024 Maine fair season is no exception to this rule.  We had previously announced that Josh Turner would be performing at this year's Fryeburg Fair.

Now, we are hearing that Aaron Tippin will be performing at the Blue Hill Fair on Sunday, September 1.

Tippin, who is best know for his hits, "Kiss This" and "Where the Stars and Stripes and the Eagles Fly", is originally from Pensacola, Florida.  Tippin has been making country hits for over three decades since signing his first professional record deal with RCA in 1990.

Aaron Tippin will be performing on the main stage at the Blue Hill Fair on September 1.  The show starts at 6:30 p.m.

This year's Blue Hill Fair runs from August 29 through September 2.  Get more details about the fair and see a complete schedule of events on the fair website.
