A single-vehicle crash in Windsor left the driver dead and his passenger in the hospital.

According to an article in the KJ, at about 3 AM on Thursday, Kennebec County Sheriff's deputies responded to the report of a crash on Mud Mill Road.

When they arrived on the scene, they found that a dark-colored 2012 Subaru with two people inside had left the road.

First responders provided aid to the driver, 65-year-old Shawn Donovan of China.  However, despite their best efforts, they were unable to revive him.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

His passenger, 42-year-old Jessica Hans of Augusta, was not conscious.  After aid had been provided on-scene, Hans was taken by Delta Ambulance to MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta.

According to officials, it appears that Donovan suffered a medical event before the crash.

Our thoughts go out to all those involved in this tragedy.

As of March 14, there have been 24 traffic-related deaths in Maine this year.  In all of 2023, there were 134 motor vehicle crash deaths in Maine.
