An Internet connectivity issue is leading to problems with online banking at several credit unions throughout the state.

According to WMTW, the Maine Credit Union League said the problem started on Thursday, January 2, was fixed that night, but returned January 3rd around 8:30 a.m. The WMTW story said the credit union league is working with its service provider to address the issue and fix the problem.

The Maine Credit Union League did not know exactly how many credit unions throughout Maine were affected by the online banking issue, adding that members are still able to use their debit cards to access their money. However, an additional report from WGME indicated that some credit union members are reporting that their cards are being declined.
