Maine Started Out 2025 With Two Massive Lottery Wins
Maine started 2025 with a couple of enormous lottery winners.
According to a press release from the Maine State Lottery, both of the $500,000 wins were from scratch tickets.
One of the tickets was claimed by a corporate entity. The Black White Unite LLC claimed a $500,000 prize from a Money Maker ticket.
Believe it or not, it is quite common for a company to claim a lottery prize. While we cannot be certain, it is likely that this LLC was formed for the sole purpose of collecting the prize. A quick search online finds no references to this organization as an operating business. People often for companies to collect lottery prizes because, here in Maine, it allows them to stay anonymous.
The other $500,000 winner was Brian Gionest, of Biddeford. He won on a Cash Bonanza ticket.
