In a wild twist, a Maine employee of the United Postal Service has been charged for aiding in what is apparently a multi-state drug trafficking ring.

According to WGME and the Portland Press Herald, Katie Montgomery of Maine, has been charged by the Manhattan (New York) District Attorney's Office.

Montgomery allegedly provided information and advice to drug ring leaders about how they could successfully send illegal drugs through the mail.

The ring, allegedly run through 'Fire Bunny USA', has reportedly sent over $7 million worth of drugs through the United States Postal Service. This all took place between 2019 and 2022 according to WGME.

WGME says that Montgomery also was checking on the status of packages that contained drugs to make sure they had not been flagged by the post office.
