
Maine State Police Investigating Mid-Coast Homicide
The Maine State Police are investigating the death of a woman in Waldoboro as a homicide.
According to a press release from the Maine Department of Public Safety's Shannon Moss, at just after 8 AM on Saturday, August 9th, police were called to a residence in Waldoboro.
A person performing a well-check visit found a deceased woman at the residence.
The press release explains:
The deceased was transported to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta, where an autopsy was conducted on Sunday afternoon, August 10, 2025. The victim has been identified as 53-year-old Levern Kelley of Waldoboro. The manner of death has been ruled a homicide. The cause of death is not being released at this time. There is no known danger to the public. The investigation is ongoing, and no further details are available. Updates will be provided when appropriate.
