In the course of the police investigation, they found bloody footprints in the bedroom where Marin's body was discovered. There was even a bloody footprint on the blanket covering Gerald Marin's body.
His body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, where an autopsy was performed. The manner of death was determined to be a homicide, and the cause of death was strangulation associated with multiple sharp-force injuries.
After a police investigation, Allimah was charged with Marin's killing. At that time, she was already being held at the Androscoggin County Jail on unrelated charges.
Allimah claims she had a sexual relationship with Marin. She claims he was alive when she left his house.
The affidavit says that she said, "If I did it, I don't remember, and I deserve the death penalty".
While 27 states have the death penalty, Maine is not one of them.
She is being held at the Kennebec County Jail following her arraignment on Tuesday morning.
