We have more details about the tragic situation that unfolded in Waterville between Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.

According to a press release from the Maine Department of Public Safety, the victim of the Waterville homicide has been identified as 52-year-old Angela Bragg of Waterville.

The press release goes on to explain that, at about 4:30 AM on Thursday, Waterville Police received a call from an employee of Damon's Beverage Waterville.  The employee of the store, which is located on Jefferson Street in Waterville, told police that they had found the body of a deceased coworker inside the store.

Members of the Waterville Police Department and Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit spent much of Thursday on the scene.  During the course of the investigation, Spirdal Hubiak was identified as a person of interest.

The body of the deceased was taken to the Office of The Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta.  On Friday, December 29, an autopsy was done.  The autopsy confirmed the identity of the deceased and that the cause of death was sharp force injury.  The manner of death has been ruled a homicide.

An arrest warrant had previously been issued for 20-year-old Spirdal Hubiak, an employee of Damon's Beverage.  So far, police have not been able to locate him.

The press release goes on to say, in part:

 Hubiak is operating a Black 2010 Ford Taurus bearing Maine plate 4666ZR. Investigators believe Hubiak has left the state and efforts to locate him continue

He is considered armed and dangerous.  Because of this, he should not be approached.  If you see him, please call 911.  Alternatively, you can call the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit at 207.624.7076 or the Waterville Police Department at 207.680.4700.
