Central Maine Restaurant & Bar Patios You Must Experience in 2025

Even though the pandemic spanked us with over a year of pure misery, there were a few good things that came out of the ordeal.

For one, we learned that the majority of us could at least partially do our jobs remotely.  We no longer had to be tethered to the office.  Instead, we had the flexibility to do at least a portion of our workload from wherever there was an internet connection.

One of the other things we learned, and this is particularly true in Maine, is that we love the idea of dining and partying outside.  When pandemic restrictions greatly decreased the capacity limits for bars and restaurants, many establishments started focusing on their outdoor spaces.

A lot of establishments already had outdoor spaces.

Those that did not, get creative.  In some municipalities, they closed down streets and allowed restaurants to take over those streets with seating.  Other places, like Augusta, allowed restaurants to use the parallel parking spots in front of their businesses as seating.  At the very least, towns and cities made it easier to place tables on the sidewalks in front of their businesses.

Fortunately, our love of patios and decks has continued post-pandemic.

We've put together a list of some of the best patios and decks in Central Maine.  Keep in mind that these options are seasonal.  At the time you read this, the patio/deck may not be open yet.  Additionally, many of these places will only staff these spaces when the weather is cooperating.
