    Portland Head Light

Posted on Yelp in 2014 by Matt T. of Rhode Island

It's a lighthouse...it's made of brick and it shines light....kind of felt like Chevy Chase at the Grand Canyon...a quick nod...aaaaannd it is time to go.

    Portland Museum of Art

Posted on Yelp in 2011 by Jen M. of Massachusetts

Decent collection but couldn't really stroll and enjoy as the staff there appear paranoid and followed patrons at close range. This would have been okay if they were offering helpful facts on the pieces or at least smiling. My companion and I started to make a game out of looking suspicious after a while just to give them a purpose.

    Mount Desert Island

Posted on TripAdvisor By Glen C. of Maine in 2015

Awful place. Entire island smells like the inside of a septic tank. Locals told me you get used to it. Even some tourist told me they got used to it after coming to Bar Harbor 6 or 7 times.

    Maine State Capitol

Posted on TripAdvisor by WPWGMW in 2015

Hard to find. Of the 24 state capitols that we have visited , this is the worst. Not worth the gas to get there. Just stop at a restaurant, not the Olive Garden, and keep driving. I cannot believe that this is a state capitol !! Was Bangor, Rockland, Portland , Camden, Lewiston already taken. This was the most disappointing part of our 8 days in Maine. Will never return!! The people that we talked to were uninformed about their own city. We were told that the population was anywhere from 10,000 to 50,000 (it is 19,000). Better , yet, don't go.

    Cadillac Mountain - (a volcano?)

Posted on TripAdvisor by Erik Z. in 2015

Our family was visiting Acadia today. I was told that Cadillac Mountain was a must see. When we tried to visit Cadillac Mountain we were informed that it was closed by police that were blocking the entrance. When I asked they offered no reason just that it was closed. The only thing I can figure is maybe a volcano or a giant rock slide least that's what my imagination told me. It was 80 degrees, I don't think it was snow. Beyond that the park is great if they could use a little more signage near attractions, they are poorly marked. If you miss one its a one way road, you can't very well back up or turn around.

    Portland's Old Port

Posted on TripAdvisor by Manchvegas_03103 in 2014

Had the misfortune of visiting the Old Port area of Portland ME. This has to be the most filthy port area I have ever visited in my life. The entire area smells and feels like an open air dump. We stopped by the night before and the place was packed with people, but could not find a place to part. So we got up early on Sat to visit the shops. WHAT A HUGE MISTAKE. TO say this place is in need of a huge bath is an understatement. RUN from this area, the time that you spent going to Boothbay is well worth it
