
Maine State Police Investigating Shooting Death in Western Maine
According to an article on the WABI website, a ski resort worker is dead following weekend shooting incident.
Officials with the Maine State Police had already confirmed they are investigating an incident that involved a pair of co-workers at a resort in Carrabassett Valley, Maine.
Residents in the area told reporters that a shooting happened Sunday night. Investigators from the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit were seen working at the scene.
One resident even snapped a photo showing a State Police Evidence Response Team vehicle parked at the Left Bank condominium complex off Route 27.
A spokesperson for one of the local ski areas confirmed that the situation involved two employees and that one of them has died. The resort spokesperson also explained that the second employee connected to the incident has been told not to return to work or be on the resort's property while the investigation continues.
By early Monday afternoon, reporters at the scene said investigators had cleared out of the area.
Authorities say there is no ongoing danger to the public. Officials also indicated that additional information about what happened is expected to be released as the investigation moves forward.
