Today (Oct.16) at the Maine State Museum is Maine Earth Science Day.

Scientists, artists, educators, geologists and weather forecasters from around Maine will gather for a museum-wide for a celebration of earth science. There will be hands on activities from Ice Age finds in Maine, an augmented reality sandbox to illustrate rain runoff patterns, the science of lightning, rock and gemstone collecting, and more.

According to centralmaine.com admission for Maine Earth Science Day is free and will run from 9 to 3.
