Maine State Police Investigate Body Found in Presumpscot River
According to a press release from the Maine Department of Public Safety, the Maine State Police are investigating the discovery of a body found in the Presumpscot River on Saturday morning.
The press release explains that, at about 11:50 AM on Saturday (September 14th), the Falmouth Police Department received a call about an object floating in the Presumpscot River. When officers investigated, they determined that the object was the body of a deceased male.
The press release says, in part:
The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit South responded to investigate. The deceased was transported to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner where an autopsy was performed. Positive identification of the deceased as well as manner and cause of death are pending at this time.
Authorities say that there is no danger to the public
