Sweltering Heat Rolls Into Maine This Week
After a very rainy spring, we've been blessed with a very nice summer.
Since the middle of June we have had very few rainy days. lots of sun, and nice temperatures.
Well, for the most part.
We have had a few days that have been real scorchers. It looks like we have more of that brutally hot weather on the way this week.
A Heatwave Descends on Maine This Week
It looks like the next few days would better be spent at the lake or beach than at the shop or office.
According to the National Weather Service, in Central Maine, Monday will be sunny and hot. The high temperature will be somewhere around 97 degrees, but it will feel more like the low 100s with the heat index.
There will also be a heat advisory in effect on Monday and Tuesday
You can expect similar temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Thursday will be a little cooler, with a high of about 89 that day.
We've got great news if you were planning a beach day this week - it will be quite a bit cooler on the Maine Coast.
On Monday, it will be sunny with a high of 83 and on Tuesday you can expect sunny skies with a high of around 85.
On Wednesday, it will be sunny with a high of about 85.
The ocean breezes will help keep the temperatures a lot cooler.
Please do what you can to stay cool and stay hydrated during the next few days. And, of course, please keep an eye on our older loved one and younger loved ones. They are way more susceptible to the heat than we are.
