Maine Will Welcome 2025 With a Nasty Mix of Rain, Snow & Wind
As has been the case for the last few years, early winter in Maine has been punctuated by a series of wind and rain storms.
And, it looks like this trend will continue into 2025.
According to the meteorologists at WMTW, while we are going to have blue skies and above-average temperatures for the last day of 2024, we'll start 2025 with a nasty mess.
In Central Maine, we'll be dealing with lots of wind and rain. While we could see a dusting of snow (or slush) we'll mostly get rain because the temperatures will remain in the lower 40s. In fact, parts of Central Maine could see in-excess of an inch of rain.
Parts of Western Maine could see up to 8" of accumulation. However, as it is going to remain warm across much of the state, that snow will be the wet, heavy kind, and may even be more slush than snow.
It's almost going to be like a mini Nor'Easter! Those are my words, not the words of any meteorologists, by the way.

On the plus side, many of us will have New Year's Day off, so we can stay close to home and take our time getting anywhere we need to go.
Keep in mind that, after the nasty weather, the temperatures across the state are going to drop. So, be prepared to bundle up for the trip back to work on Thursday.
