Mainers Income Lag Behind The National Average

There is good news and bad news when it comes to the average Mainers personal income. First the good news, the average Maine personal income grew 2.8 percent from last year. Now the bad news.

Maine ranks 40th in the nation with an average median per capita income of $42,071.

The national average income grew by 3 percent.

Alaska and Oregon had the largest increase at 5.7 percent, while Nebraska had the smallest increase of 0.5 percent.
