In a TRIP report, Maine rural roads and bridges are in bad shape. TRIP is a national non-profit transportation research group and they conducted research on road conditions of all 50 states.

Maine ranked in the same spot as it did in 2014. Maine was 42nd out of 50 in the ranking of road conditions. Michigan had the worst roads in the report. To see the report click here.

Looking more closely at the report, 26 percent of Maine's rural roads have pavement that is in poor condition. Fifteen percent of the state's bridges are structurally deficient.
