In addition to her forthcoming new Christmas album and holiday tour, Martina McBride will release her second cookbook this fall. Titled Martina's Kitchen Mix: My Recipe Playlist for Real Life, the book will feature close to 300 pages of recipes created by McBride and her family. "When I find a delicious recipe, I can't wait to share it, just like when I find a great song," McBride says in a statement. "So I'm excited to share what I am cooking right now in my own kitchen for my family and friends. These are some of my very favorite recipes I've created since the last book [2014's Around the Table], as well as some family recipes that have been handed down to me." Martina's Kitchen Mix: My Recipe Playlist for Real Life hits shelves on Oct. 30. -- AM

Dolly Parton is the recipient of the first-ever Dolly Parton Excellence in Leadership Award. Presented by Leadership Tennessee, the newly minted honor was given to Parton in recognition of her numerous charitable ventures in the Volunteer State, including her Imagination Library children's literacy program and the Smoky Mountains Rise telethon that raised more than $12 million for families affected by wildfires in 2016. "While she may be most known for her music, she has undoubtedly proved to be an exemplar of leadership through her generosity, humility, inclusiveness, expertise and passion," says Tennessee First Lady Crissy Haslam. "As a state, we are indebted to all that Dolly has done for Tennessee and its people; there is no one better suited for the very first Excellence in Leadership Award.” -- AM
