Massive Central Maine Haunted House Attraction Set to Open Their Doors Next Week

How is it possible that summer is already in the rearview, the leaves are changing colors and all of the tourists are headed back to their ritzy homes in the city?

At any rate, it's a reality we all have to face as we inch ever closer to another brutal Maine winter.

At least before we get to winter we get to enjoy the offerings of fall, and with it, comes the epic splendor of All Hallows' Eve. And, with THAT, comes one of our favorite seasonal attractions here in Maine.

Of course, I'm talking about the United Volunteers of Maine's Haunted House.

You see, this particular haunted house has been around for literal decades, and while the haunts and ghouls have evolved over the years, one thing remains the same: this is a MUST-DO attraction for those in Maine who are brave enough to step inside.

This year, the Haunted House will once again be located at the Marketplace at Augusta just next door to Barnes & Noble. The Haunted House will open Friday, October 6, and will run each Friday and Saturday through Halloween. They will run extended dates the week of Halloween and will be open October 27, 28, 29, 30 and 31.

One of the best things about this particular haunted house is that it is run by the great team at United Volunteers of Maine. What does that mean? Well, the majority of the proceeds from the event go right back out to the community in the form of donations.

And if you know someone around high school age who would like to get in on the action, United Volunteers of Maine is always looking for 'haunters' to help act inside the haunted house.
