Police Identify Pedestrian Killed at Waterville Gas Station
Over the weekend we learned about the tragic death of a pedestrian at a gas station in Waterville. We now know the identity of the person who passed away.
According to an article on the WABI website, police say the crash happened just before 11:30 AM on Sunday on Main Street at the Big Apple convenience store.
According to Waterville Police, a car driven by 70-year-old Richard Moyen of Strong was turning onto Main Street when it collided with another vehicle driven by 57-year-old Kenneth Hughes of Waterville.
Investigators say the impact forced Hughes’ car off the road and into a vehicle that was parked at one of the gas pumps. That same car also struck a woman who was standing there pumping gas at the time.
Police have now identified that woman as 37-year-old Michelle Bruce of Madison. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash shut down part of Main Street for a time as police and emergency crews worked to investigate and clear the area. Officers say the incident remains under investigation, and no additional details have been released yet about what may have caused the crash.
Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact Waterville Police as they continue working to piece together what happened.
Our thoughts are with all those involved during this difficult time.
