According to WMTW, a two year old child from Lewiston was found safe several hours after she wandered away from her home.

Lewiston Police Department officers responded to the report of a missing child at a Howe Street residence just before midnight last night (September 22nd).  The young girl was found several hours later, just after 6 AM, in the hallway of a nearby apartment.

The child was taken to Central Maine Medical Center to be checked out, but the child appeared to be okay.

It appears that the child wandered away from her home, but police continue to investigate.

We're all just glad to hear that the child was unhurt in the incident.
