According to Channel 10 in Boston, the New England Patriots have resigned QB Cam Newton.

Despite having a very rough first year with the team, inside sources are saying the 31 year old will return for at least one more season with the team.

In July of 2020, Newton was signed to replace longtime Patriots QB Tom Brady.  Sadly, he had one of the roughest seasons of his NFL career.  He averaged just 177 passing yards per game, he had eight touchdown passes, and 10 interceptions.  The New England Patriots closed out their season with a 7-9 record.

We should get an official announcement from the Patriots sometime today.

According to Wikipedia, Cameron Jerrell Newton was born on May 11th, 1989 in Atlanta, Georgia.  Newton comes from a football family.  His father, Cecil Newton Sr played for the Cowboys and Bills back in the 1980s.  His older brother, Cecil Newton, is a center for the Jaguars.  His younger brother, Caylin, was a QB for Howard Bison.    After high school, Newton attended and played for Auburn.  After college, he played for the Panthers from 2011 to 2019.
