It was a very disturbing scene that played out at a Seacoast, New Hampshire gas station on Thursday afternoon.

According to WMTW News 8, Hamptom, New Hampshire police responded to a Speedway gas station on Lafayette Road at about 4:30 on Thursday afternoon after receiving reports of an assault.

When police arrived on the scene, they found a man that had been badly injured. After further investigation, police quickly realized that the victim had been shot in the face with a flare gun. That victim was taken from the scene and transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.

Police are now looking for the suspect they believe is to blame for the assault. The man they are looking for apparently has no fixed address and may be on a bicycle. The suspect, Elton Stanley, is a 37-year-old male and hasn't been seen since the assault took place yesterday.

Hampton Police Chief, Alex Reno, told the news in part,

"Last seen possibly traveling on a bicycle. He is a Black male, 5 feet, 7 inches, 190 pounds, dreadlocks. We're asking anyone who sees him to not come in contact with him but contact us immediately."

Hampton police are asking for the public's help in locating the Stanley. Officials say that anyone who may have information about the assault or who has seen the alleged suspect to contact Hampton Police to make an anonymous report at 603-929-1222. Folks can also call the department directly at 603-929-4444.
