NFL Draft Thursday: Pats Pick 23rd
The NFL draft is Thursday (4-26) and the New England Patriots have a first round draft pick this year. Patriots have the 23rd pick in the first round.
The last first round draft pick by New England was in 2015 when the drafted DT Malcom Brown out of Texas with the 32nd pick.
this year the Patriots go into the draft with some needs but Coach Bill Belichick always says they like to pick the best played rather that try to fill a need with a sub-par player.
What do the the Patriots need?
Corner back or Safety is one need especially since Malcom Butler left to go with the Tennessee Titans.
They need help on the offensive line since Left Tackel Nate Solder left to play for the New York Giants.
They may also be looking for some defensive players trying to shore-up the run defense and get more pressure on the QB. With that in mind they may go after a linebacker and defensive end that can rush the passer.
On nfl.com the biggest a Backup Quarterback is a need too since jimmy Garoppolo was trade to the San Francisco 49ers. Everyone in New England thought Goroppolo was next in line when Brady decide to retire but it looks like the may be on the market to groom someone to take over when Brady hangs up the cleats.
