A Norridgewock woman is facing eviction from her home for allowing her daughter's service dog to visit her home for five days last month. The landlord states that it was a violation of her lease.

Dawn Zammuto is taking her eviction notice to court. She has files a complaint with the state Human Rights Commission over her eviction. According to Maine state law, people with service dogs cannot be discriminated against housing accommodations.

She is schedule to appear in court this Friday in Skowhegan.

A lawyer for the home's owner told the Morning Sentinel that Zammuto's lease clearly says no pets are allowed. Adding, that other tenants complained and said they want pets too.
