
Oakland Man Killed In Saturday Night Accident In Augusta
A Central Maine man is dead following a Saturday evening accident in Augusta.
According to the Lewiston Sun Journal, a 58 year old man from Oakland (Maine) riding a motorcycle was killed in the accident.
The accident took place at just after 8 PM at the intersection of Civic Center Drive and Old Belgrade Road. The accident happened when an SUV, which was being driven by a 23 year old man from Augusta, was making a left turn off Civic Center Drive onto Old Belgrade Road. The SUV was in the southbound lane, while the motorcycle was traveling north on Civic Center Drive, toward Belgrade.
In addition to the motorcyclist being killed, his passenger, a woman, was injured and taken to the hospital.
Neither the driver of the SUV or his passenger, a 54 year old woman, were injured in the accident.
The identities of the motorcyclist, or his passenger, have been released. No charges have been filed in the accident.
