Everything You Need to Know About Old Hallowell Day 2026

One of the great things about living in Maine is the number of festivals we have each summer.

We'll take basically any opportunity to throw a community festival! We have festivals celebrating lobsters, clams, Moxie, Whoopie Pies, and beer! We also have a number of festivals celebrating individual towns.

One of the most beloved of these festivals is the Old Hallowell Day festival in Hallowell.

Old Hallowell Day 2026

This year, Old Hallowell Day will take place on Saturday, July 18th.

While there will be a few events earlier in the morning, we all know that the day will officially kick off with the parade at 10 AM. The parade always features bands, local businesses, community organizations, firetrucks, and more. And, many of the parade entrants will have awesome giveaways. The Old Hallowell Day parade rivals some of the state's biggest 4th of July parades. Pretty impressive considering how small Hallowell is.

Throughout the day there'll be live music, fun activities, and lots of food. There'll be a community band concert at 11 AM and the food court at Granite City Park will be open throughout the day.

And, of course, the day will conclude with one of the best fireworks displays in New England. The fireworks will be launched over the Kennebec River and the best viewing will be from Granite City Park or Front Street.

The organizers will provide more details when we get closer to the big day.
