Official Details About the 2024 Old Hallowell Day Festival

Maine has a lot to offer during the summer  We have mighty rivers, sandy beaches, amazing restaurants, unforgettable small towns, and cool festivals.

One of the most anticipated festivals of the summer returns this July.

According to the event's official website, Old Hallowell Day will take place on Saturday, July 20, 2024.

While the organizers have yet to release a detailed schedule of the day's events, we do know that the action will kick off at 7:30 on Saturday morning with the Old Hallowell Day 5K race.  The start and finish line for both walkers and runners is Vaughan Field.

One of the day's highlights will be the Old Hallowell Day parade.  The event's parade is one of the best examples of an old-school, small-town parade.  Dozens of local businesses, community groups, dance schools, and first responder organizations walk (and roll) down Water Street.  The parade is always attended by thousands of people.

While the organizers have yet to announce a specific time for this year's parade, it typically happens in the late morning.

Several bands will be performing throughout the afternoon, and the Granite City Park parking lot will be transformed into a food truck park.

The day will close out with an epic fireworks display over the Kennebec River.  The fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9 PM.

The fireworks display in Hallowell never disappoints.  It is one of the best fireworks shows you will ever see!

Even though the fireworks are considered the grand finale of Old Hallowell Day, the party continues into the night.  Many of the cool bars that line Water Street will feature live music and DJs throughout the night.
