Another Big Change For the Palace Playland Fireworks in Old Orchard Beach, Maine
I have always loved hanging out in Old Orchard Beach. There's just something cool about the idea of Maine having a quintessential tourist beach town. It always reminded me of something you'd see in a movie, like The Lost Boys.
There is just so much to love about the town. Of course, there is the miles-long sandy beach, but there are also dozens of restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and shops. And, there's Palace Playland, the state's only beachfront amusement park.
Palace Playland in Old Orchard Beach, Maine
It may be hard to believe, but the park has been in business for over 120 years! It first opened in 1902. Since then, the park has seen a massive amount of growth. Over the decades it went from having very basic rides and attractions to having some of the most sophisticated rides in the world.
The Palace Playland Fireworks
For years, tourists and locals have been treated to weekly fireworks displays put on by Palace Playland. These fireworks are typically shot off over the beach on Thursday nights.
In recent years, those fireworks were shot off at 9:45 PM, but earlier this summer, the decision was made to fire them off earlier. This change was reportedly made over safety concerns. For a few weeks, they were launched at 9 PM.
Now, we are hearing that the time for the fireworks has changed, again.
According to a recent Facebook post from the amusement park, the fireworks will be held at 9:20 PM.
