According to WalletHub, one of the best run cities in the country is right here in Central Maine.
Yes, Lewiston has been named one of the top 20 best run cities in America.
WalletHub compared 150 of the largest cities in the country to determine how efficient they were at operating. For each city, they used 38 key performance categories to determine a “Quality of City Services” score. They then measured that score against the city’s total per-capita budget. Basically, their process measures how much bang for their buck the city's residents are getting.
Lewiston came in 13th place. It had a "Quality of Services" rank of 56 and a "Budget Per Capita" rank of 18.
Elsewhere in New England, Nashua, New Hampshire came in 10th place. Portland came in 33rd place.
