According to a press release from the Maine Department of Public Safety, a 42 year old man living in Bath has been arrested and charged with the murder of his mother.

According to the press release, just before Noon on Tuesday, May 24th, police responded to an apartment at 125 Congress Street in Bath.  In the apartment, they discovered the body of 66 year old Jeanine Ross..

Investigators determined she had been killed.  Ultimately, they arrested her son, 42 year old Jason Ibarra and charged him with her murder.

The press release goes on to say:

Maine State Police’s Major Crimes Unit Detectives were called in to assist with the investigation due to the circumstances surrounding the death. Detectives worked into the evening with Bath P.D.  The Office of Chief Medical Examiner conducted the autopsy Wednesday morning. The death has been ruled a homicide and Detectives have arrested Jeanine Ross’ son, 42 year old Jason Ibarra and charged him with murder.  Ibarra had been staying with his mother at the time of her death.

Following his arrest, Ibarra was taken to Two Bridges Jail.

More details about the case are expected to be released through court documents.
