Picture this: you go to bed on Saturday night not entirely sure how you are going to pay your bills, but wake up on Sunday morning to the news that you are going to be able to wipe out all your debt.

That's what one person in Massachusetts may have experienced over the weekend.

Honestly, we have no way of knowing for sure.  For all we know, the lottery winner could already have had seven figures in their bank account.

However, given how the economy has been over the last few years, it is completely plausible that the winner was not doing all that well financially.

Massachusetts Powerball Winner

According to the Powerball website, someone in Massachusetts won a million dollars in the Saturday, December 14, drawing.

The numbers for Saturday's drawing were 12-17-23-52-67, and the Powerball was 1

No one won the jackpot during Saturday's drawing.

In fact, there have been a few drawings since there was a jackpot winner.  Because of this, the jackpot for Monday's drawing is $55 million.  That's the annuity value.

If you chose the lump sum payout, you'd walk away with $25.7 million, before taxes.
