Recipe To Turn Punxsutawney Phil Into Groundhog Stew
Forgive me if I'm a little cranky about our present weather conditions. It's natural instinct to want to place blame for ones misery. So, that's what I am doing. I point all fingers at Punxsutawney Phil! This morning, he called for 6 more weeks of winter. Darn rodent. So, today...I'm making Groundhog Stew!
Follow the directions as follows:
Ingredients:
1 groundhog
2 onions, sliced
1/2 cup celery, sliced
Flour
Vinegar and water
Salt and pepper
Cloves
Take dead groundhog and clean the lil fella; remove glands (or don't...might add more flavor); cut into serving pieces (makes legit sense). Soak overnight in a solution of equal parts of water and vinegar with addition of one sliced onion and a little salt. Drain, wash, and wipe. Parboil 20 minutes, drain, and cover with fresh boiling water. Add one sliced onion, celery, a few cloves, and salt and pepper to taste. Cook until tender; thicken gravy with flour.
Then throw the entire thing out and order Pizza!
