You better fill up on turkey this week, because getting chicken from the Red Barn is not an option.

Don't panic, nothing is wrong, but for the first time ever, the popular Augusta restaurant will be closing for a few days to allow its staff to take some time off and see family over the holidays.

"I want to make sure that all of us can be with our families near and far for the holiday," said owner Laura Benedict on the Red Barn's Facebook page. "The Red Barn crew deserves a break and this is the time.

Benedict announced the decision on Nov. 23 and the restaurant closed at 2 p.m.on Sunday Nov. 24. The Red Barn will be reopened at 9 a.m. on Black Friday, Nov. 24 so you can get your fix before going shopping (or in the case of hard-core shoppers, after a long night of shopping!)
