After a year of lawsuits bouncing back and forth between Apple Inc. and Samsung, a jury has decided in Apple’s favor.  Samsurg, one of Apple’s biggest competitors and has overtaken Apple as leading smartphone maker.

Apple filed a patent infringement lawsuit early in 2011 and hired the countries best patent lawyers demanding $2.5 billion from Samsung.  Samsung Electronics Co. shot back with a lawsuit of theirs demanding $399 million. There were more than two dozen Samsung devices at issue; the jury found Samsung illegally used some of Apple’s creations but not all. As part of the lawsuit Apple is demanding Samsung pull its most popular cellphones and computer tablets from the U.S.  Market.
A judge will rule on that at a later time.

Apple didn’t receive the $2.5 billion it was asking, however the verdict belonged to Apple as the jury awarded them $1.05 billion. As would be expected, Samsung will appeal.
