There are many reasons why Maine is a great place to call home.  Friendly people, fresh air, a fairly low crime rate, and the state is a paradise for people who love a variety of outdoor activities.

Clearly, there are some cons, too.  Two of the largest are concerns about the coast of living (compared to the typical wage) and the fact that our summer is very very VERY short.

Well, the team at Roadsnacks.net have put together their list of the worst places to live in Maine.

There list was based on a series of factors including: number of good paying jobs, typical education level, home values, population density, and crime rate.

One of the caveats to the list is the fact that, if the following cities were in other states, they would have scored a lot higher.  These are Maine cities pitted against Maine cities.  If it was Maine cities versus cities from other states (or, the entire country), these places would probably fall in way different spots.  For example, Biddeford or Lewiston would look like Beverly Hills if you put it up against Detroit.
