Severe Showers & Thunderstorms Likely For Much of Maine on Thursday
Summer in Maine means riding Dragon's Descent at Funtown, contending with tourists who don't know how to drive and pop-up thunderstorms that seemingly appear out of an otherwise beautifully clear sky. You know what they say, right? If you don't like the weather in Maine, just wait a minute and it will change.
According to WGME 13, says that a combination of weather factors will lead to an increased risk of severe thundershowers for much of the Pine Tree State on Thursday afternoon.
WGME says that an approaching cold front will move into the area on Thursday and, with the cold front, bring an increased risk for thunderboomers. They say that the largest risk will run from about three in the afternoon until nine at night.
WGME says that the storms on Thursday could produce, in addition to heavy rain and downpours, damaging winds and hail.
We certainly hope that these storms, if they pop up in the evening, don't adversely affect the big Backstreet Boys concert that's happening tomorrow night in Bangor.
And, if any of our listeners that are going to that show tomorrow are reading this article, it may behoove you to bring an umbrella along for the ride!
We will continue to keep this article updated as more information becomes available tomorrow.
