Maine ‘Star Wars’ Fans Can Experience the Original Movie in an Epic Way in 2025

Whether you are a massive sci-fi nerd or just love a great movie, there is no denying that the original Star Wars is one of the greatest movies made in the last fifty years.

Star Wars: A New Hope is a true masterpiece.

You have probably seen the movie dozens of times on TV.  Since most of us have large-definition TVs, you have probably felt happy with how you have experienced the movie.

Let’s be real, though, there is nothing like seeing an epic movie on the big screen.  There’s just something awe-inspiring about seeing the vistas of Tatooine or a wing of X-Wings on the trench run on the big screen.

Is there a way to make that experience better?

Believe it or not, yes, there is!

What if a live orchestra played John Williams’ iconic score along with the film?  That is exactly what you’ll get if you attend the Portland Symphony Orchestra’s Star Wars: A New Hope in Concert.

There will be two shows for the event, which will be held at the Merrill Auditorium.  You’ll be able to see it at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, and 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 4, 2025.

If you are not a huge Star Wars fan, you may not realize that the second date is very important to fans.  May 4^th is known as Star Wars Day.  Why?  Because May the 4^th sounds like “May the Force be with you”.

In March, I had a chance to see the Portland Symphony Orchestra play along with the first Harry Potter movie.  Because I am a way bigger Star Wars fan, I am expecting this to be even more epic.
