It's not a joke... according to local meteorologists, southern Maine could find itself under another pile of snow, 11 days after the official start of spring.

Now that spring is here it’s time to get some of those things on your ‘honey do list’ done. Spring and summer are the most popular time to paint in Maine and Maine environmental officials would like you to do three things when you buy paint.

You may have noticed, like I have, the sweet smell of skunk in the air.  Can there be a worse smell in all of nature? This is season in Maine for skunks to be on the prowl. During late winter they mate and by April or May they are caring for their young and looking for food.

The moon was really bright this morning, Monday, February 22, because it is a full moon. In February, the traditional name of the full moon is Snow moon or Full moon.

It’s spring! Doesn’t feel like it with the cold and wind but looking at the calendar, it is. Some signs of spring, my left eye and nostril are running with my spring allergies, so it must be spring.

You wake up in the morning and you hear a bird singing. Is it a robin? A chickadee? A starling? Can't figure it out? B98.5 can help you!

It happened to me yesterday morning at 4am. *sniff sniff* Dang! They're back!

Yes, 90% of us of are sick of the cold and the snow. There are the diehards that have plenty of snow left to play with. But, if you look at your friend's posts on Facebook, there are more wishes for Spring rather than snow.

NO, this is not my idea of spring! As of 7:02 am, it will be spring.  I want flowers and green grass.I don't like birds, but even some chirping birds would be a good sign.  Such is life in Maine.

Flowers are not the only sign winter is nearing its end. You know spring weather is getting closer and closer when officials start to look closely at the level of snow and ice in Maine and its' potential impact on Maine flooding. For me, just a sign of warmer things to come!

With another winter storm warning in effect as we expect another foot or so of heavy, wet snow in Central Maine, I think we could all use a sign of spring! Last week, I saw it, one of my favorite things this time of year. It wasn't a robin, or a crocus, it was a fantasy baseball magazine!
