According to an article on the WABI website, 5 teenagers are facing charges following a wave of vehicle break-ins and vandalism in Somerset County over the weekend.

According to the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded Sunday to several reports of vehicles being broken into throughout the town of Madison. Investigators say the incidents were spread across multiple locations and left residents dealing with stolen property and damaged vehicles.

Officials also say two homes in the area had windows smashed during the spree, adding to the damage caused during the incidents.

The Sheriff’s Office says five juveniles between the ages of 13 and 16 have now been charged in connection with the case.  The charges include burglary, theft, burglary of a motor vehicle, and criminal mischief.

Because all five suspects are minors, their names have not been released publicly.

Investigators say the case remains active and additional charges could still be filed as deputies continue gathering evidence and speaking with victims.

Anyone in the Madison area who believes their vehicle may have been entered unlawfully is encouraged to contact the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office.
