Unless you've only been involved with one high school, you've probably realized that every school does things a little differently.

This becomes even more apparent as students near the end of their senior year.  Most students participate in a variety of activities in the spring of their senior year, like senior skip days, senior parties, and senior award nights, for example.  Some of these are school-sanctioned events, others not so much.

One of the unique things that Cony High School does to celebrate graduating seniors is to have a 'car parade' of seniors driving through the heart of Augusta.

This event is meant to give people who may not have a reason to be at graduation a chance to show some love to these teens as they prepare for graduation.

This year's senior trip through Augusta will start at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, June 7.

The route will take the seniors from Cony High School down Pierce Drive, onto Cony Street, through the rotary, across Memorial Bridge, down Water Street, through downtown, up Bridge Street, through the rotary, and back to Cony High School.

Keep in mind that this may cause traffic to slow down in those areas.

We encourage you to find a spot along the parade route so that you can wave and cheer for our graduates.
