There's no time like the present to start planning your Halloween activities.  Of course, the younger kids are going trick-or-treating.  You'll probably end up at one of Central Maine's trunk-or-treats, too.  But, what about the older kids and adults?

You can check out one of Maine's haunted attractions!  There are a dozen or so haunted houses and trails spread across the state.

One of them is just a short drive from Augusta or Waterville.

Located in the tiny Maine town of Washington, you'll find the Mid-Coast Maine Trail of Horror!

It appears that the haunted trail is put on by a company called Maine Audio Visual.

According to their website,

Discover what makes our Halloween "Trail of Horror" Nights your worst nightmare come true! There's scare zones throughout, music and  entertainment, plus a whole lot more.

Is it scary?  Well, it is scary enough that they ask attendees be at least 12 years old.  They also suggest that people with a heart conditions or high blood pressure may not want to go.  Also, they warn people that there are lots of strobes and bright lights.

The dates for this year's trail are October 1-3, October 8-10, October 15-17 and  October 29-31st. The attraction's gates open at 5:30 each night and the attraction closes at 9:30.

Find the attraction at 26 Augusta Road in Washington, Maine.  About a 30 minute drive from downtown Augusta.

They're looking volunteer actors, make-up artists, and help setting up props. If you are interested and available, they ask that you contact JT at 207.747.8896 or through email at jt@maineaudiovisual.com
