The first Fast and Furious spin-off is here and boy is it loud and violent; but boy is it fun. Starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, Hobbs and Saw follows 2 fan favorites from the series as they take on Idris Elba aka Black Superman, and enhanced human who is bullet proof, and fitted with the best technology.

The plot: This is by far the weakest part of the movie. Shaw's sister whom we've never met before has absorbed the worlds deadliest virus into her bloodstream and is being hunted by Elba who is working for a shadowy organization who owns the media and they are made into public enemies #1. Eventually going back to Samoa to meet up with Dwayne Johnson's family who he's estranged from even though they've never alluded to that ever.

The action: Yeah, the action was great, it's Jason Statham, Dwayne Johnson, and Idris Elba, of course the action was amazing.

The acting: Not gonna lie, this was a little hard to criticize as none of the actors played outside their comfort zone. Dwayne Johnson made jokes while beating people up, Jason Statham was tough as nails and a badass, and Idris Elba has never put on a bad performance. What most impressed me about this, was Hattie Shaw played by Vanessa Kirby. She wasn't a placeholder, she wasn't played as a sex symbol or damsel. You never felt like she couldn't get out of a situation. She was just as badass as Johnson and Statham, and i thought it was very well done.

FINAL VERDICT: TICKET. Spend the money. It's worth it.
