Tim McGraw Sneaks Into His Daughters’ Rock Concerts
Tim McGraw's two oldest daughters are, or have been, in rock bands. He wishes they would stamp out records, but in the meantime, he'll just catch them live when he can.
Oldest daughter Gracie just moved to Los Angeles to become an actor — "She's very good," McGraw says — and the hitmaker shared a video on Instagram of the two of them singing during the long road trip west from Nashville. While in high school she was in an alt-rock band called Tingo, and since starting college at Stanford his middle daughter Maggie has joined a rock group, too. They keep him busy.
"I haven't missed a club show yet," McGraw says from backstage at Hometown Rising in Louisville, Ky., on Saturday (Sept. 14). "There's been a few frat party shows that I've missed of Maggie's out there in Palo Alto, but I try to make every show that I can."

Neither of the girls are interested in music as a career, however, and while that bums him out, the fatherly pride McGraw has for how his kids are chasing their dreams dominates the conversation.
"She's 22, and on one hand, it's sad," he says of Gracie moving away, "but on the other hand to have the gumption to go out and chase your dreams ... it feels like we did a pretty good job."
"I'm proud of her," he adds.
That leaves just youngest daughter Audrey (also a talented singer, he says) at home with McGraw and wife Faith Hill. He's not rushing her out, but he won't sit around feeling sorry for himself once they're empty-nesters.
"Here's the thing, Faith and I, we only had a year together before we had kids," he says. "This will be the first time, after Audrey leaves ... we're looking forward to what our future holds."
McGraw also shared more details about his next album and describes the direction his songs are going in 2020 and beyond. The first Hometown Rising in Louisville featured top-tier talent like McGraw, Keith Urban and Luke Bryan, plus a dynamic food and beverage area and plenty of the area's top bourbons.
